Privacy Policy

Effective Date: November 4, 2026

1. Introduction

Cook Insurance, Inc. (“Cook Insurance,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you request a quote, work with us as a client, text or call us, or visit cookinsure.com, how we use that information, and who we share it with. It applies whether you reach us by phone, by text message, in person at our Apache Junction office, or through our website.

By requesting a quote, becoming a client, or using our website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Who We Are

Cook Insurance is a family-owned independent insurance agency based in Apache Junction, Arizona, serving clients since 1977. We are not an insurance company. We work with a network of A-rated (AM Best) insurance carriers to shop for coverage on your behalf, so the information we collect is used to get you quotes and service your policy - not to underwrite or issue coverage ourselves.

Cook Insurance holds an active Arizona insurance producer license (#659942) and is also licensed in Utah, Idaho, and California.

3. Information We Collect

The information we ask for depends on the type of coverage you're requesting. For most personal insurance quotes, we typically collect:

  • Your name, address, phone number, email address, and date of birth
  • Your driver's license number and driving history
  • Details about what you're insuring - for example, your vehicle, home, mobile home, or business
  • Your current or prior insurance information, if you have it

For commercial coverage, we may also ask for information about your business, such as its operations, payroll, or revenue.

When you request a quote, the carriers we contact may obtain information about you from other sources, such as motor vehicle records, prior claims history, and, where Arizona law allows, credit-based insurance information. Those carriers handle that information under their own privacy notices.

We do not collect health or medical information, even for life insurance quotes.

We do not collect payment information. When you pay a premium, you pay your carrier or premium finance company directly through their own payment portal - Cook Insurance does not process or store your credit card or bank account details.

4. Website Analytics and Tracking Tools

Like most business websites, cookinsure.com uses a small number of tools to understand how visitors use the site and to support our marketing efforts. These tools may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and how you interact with the site. We use:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager - to understand overall website traffic and how visitors use our pages
  • Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools - to see how our website performs in search results
  • Microsoft Clarity - to see how visitors interact with our pages, such as clicks and scrolling, so we can improve the website
  • ZoomInfo - to help identify businesses that visit our website, for business development purposes
  • Trustindex - to display our Google reviews on the website

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Turning off cookies may affect how parts of our website function, but it will not affect your ability to contact us or request a quote.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Prepare insurance quotes by sharing relevant details with carriers likely to be a good fit for your situation
  • Service your policy, including renewals, coverage changes, and SR-22 filings
  • Help you document and submit a claim
  • Contact you about your quote, policy, renewal, or claim by phone, email, or text message
  • Send our email newsletter, if you subscribe
  • Improve our website using the analytics tools described above
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a licensed insurance agency

6. Text Message (SMS) Communications

If you give us your mobile phone number and agree to receive text messages, Cook Insurance may text you about your quote requests, policy service, renewals, coverage changes, claims assistance, appointment reminders, and replies to your questions. You can agree by checking the text message consent box on our website forms, or by giving us your consent in person, by phone, or in writing.

What we collect: your mobile phone number, your name, the text messages we send and receive, and a record of your consent (including the date, time, and how you agreed).

How we protect it: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We share mobile phone numbers with our text messaging service provider and wireless carriers only so your messages can be delivered. If you ask us to quote or service a policy, your phone number may be included in that application to the insurance carrier, but only for that purpose and never for marketing.

The basics: Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of buying any insurance product or service.

Opting out: Reply STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE) to any message at any time. You will receive one confirmation text, and we will not text you again unless you opt back in by replying START. For help, reply HELP or call us at 480-986-4400.

7. Email Communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter or give us your email address, we may email you about your quote, your policy, and coverage updates. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email. Service emails about your policy may still be sent while you are a client.

8. How We Share Your Information

To get you a quote, we share relevant information with the carriers we believe are the best fit for your situation. We do not send your information to every carrier in our network - only to those most likely to offer coverage that suits your needs.

We may also share information with:

  • Premium finance companies - if you choose to finance your premium
  • Service providers who help us run the agency - such as our online quote form platform, agency management system, email, phone, and text messaging providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Government agencies and regulators - when required by law, such as an SR-22 filing with the Arizona MVD, or to respond to a lawful request

If you choose Mexico auto insurance through our Mexipass partnership, your information is submitted directly to Mexipass and is handled under Mexipass's own privacy practices, not this Policy. We recommend reviewing Mexipass's privacy policy before submitting your information through that link.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with marketing companies, data vendors, or any other outside party for their own purposes.

Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party, including the carriers and partners listed above. Mobile phone numbers are handled as described in Section 6.

9. Online Forms and Third-Party Links

Our online quote and contact forms are hosted by a secure third-party insurance rating platform on our behalf. Information you submit there comes to Cook Insurance and is used as described in this Policy. Before your request is submitted, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy.

Our website also links to carrier payment portals and other outside websites. Once you leave cookinsure.com, that website's own privacy practices apply.

10. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep client information in our system even after a policy ends or you stop doing business with us; inactive files are marked as such rather than deleted. We do this so we can assist you if you return as a client, respond to questions about past coverage, and meet our recordkeeping obligations as a licensed agency.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including limiting access to client files to staff who need it to do their jobs. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under the age of 18. If a policy involves a minor - for example, adding a teenage driver to an auto policy - a parent or legal guardian handles all communication, decisions, and paperwork with our agency on the minor's behalf.

13. Your Choices

You can:

  • Reply STOP to any text message to opt out of future texts
  • Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email to stop newsletter emails
  • Contact us to ask what information we have on file for you, or to request a correction

Contact information is at the end of this Policy.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on cookinsure.com with its effective date.
